a suprise 1/2' after work today

the canal is off.  It was off when I checked at 8 am this morning.  But, I guess they just turned it off so nothing was spilling over the dam (the canal has a bit of extra capacity as a buffer so some extra water can collect in there when they turn off the project).

Decided to paddle after work anyway today, because it was warm, and figured we'd just be doing laps on the Flume.  We looked, and it was 1/2' on the paint.  Wow.  Let's set shuttle and do the entire run!!!
