1 1/4 on the paint today and 3 inches of rain fell, so rising fast...
When we put on at 2 pm, the painted gauge was just above 1, and the
second lap at 4:30 showed the gauge at 1 1/4. The rain did not start to
fall for real until we were at the end of the run, changing. 1" of
rain while we were on the water, and, according to my own rain gauge at
home, 2" more from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. And, as I post this, it is still
raining.
Somebody please make a note of the painted gauge if you get out this week. Not just in passing. Please paddle up to it and get a good look. Since the canal is off, we need this data to know exactly how much water it takes for the river to run at these levels.
Sorry for the blurry photos. Low light. Fog in the air. Great temp differential kept fogging the lens.
